Supersnake conversion procedure part 2

The body is fitted in two main parts. The bonnet is mounted on forward tilting hinges attached to a frame fitted to the chassis. It buts against the stainless steel lower wings that are bonded to the space frame.

When correctly aligned the scuttle is cut from the bonnet moulding and bonded to the space frame bulkhead top. This method ensures ease of fitting to create accurate shut lines. The rear section is bolted and bonded on to the space frame and floor pan and the boot lid cut out following the moulded in guide line. Once cut out it will reveal a water drip channel to which the seal is attached.

The boot lid can then be sanded lightly around the edges to create a perfect shut

line when mounted on its hinges. The doors are supplied in stainless steel and require the outer skin to be bonded to the inner door shell after the intrusion bar, hinge and lock frame has been fitted and assembled on the car.

Again this method allows the skin to be trimmed as required to give nice clean shut lines. Being made of steel it is much easier to "tweak" the doors to adjust them correctly for final fitting. The stainless steel sill covers are screwed and bonded in place.
The dashboard moulding takes all the instruments and controls from the Mondeo and can be supplied in leather grain satin black, gloss body colour, or at extra cost, real carbon fibre.

The interior can be trimmed utilising the Mondeo carpet and new leather cloth for the door trims. Traditional style bucket seats will be available as an extra if desired. Pedals and steering column require extending.

The wiring loom needs lengthening between original bulkhead and dash/steering column as do the heating and ventilation ducts. It also needs shortening and de cluttering of all the unused equipment to the rear.

For those who don't wish to do this a purpose made loom will be available at extra cost.
